West Islip Fire Department to Host Blood Drive

The West Islip Fire Department will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday as a tribute to the heroes on the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

The drive will take place from 2:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. at the fire house on 309 Union Boulevard.

To be eligible, donors must:

- Bring donor card or ID with signature or photo

- Weight a minimum of 110 pounds

- Be between 16 to 75 years old (those younger than 16 need parental permission and those about 75 need a doctors note)

- Eat well and drink fluids

- Have not gotten a tattoo within the past 12 months
