West Islip HS Seniors Solo at Music Lovers Club Competition
Congrats to West Islip High School seniors Sara Mercurio and Rachel Swenson.
West Islip High School seniors Sara Mercurio and Rachel Swenson were selected as finalists for the 66th annual Music Lovers Club scholarship competition. Both students performed their solos at the United Methodist Church of Islip on Feb. 29 in front of an audience and panel of judges. Mercurio won first place, Swenson earned an honorable mention, and both students received a cash award.
The Music Lovers Club, founded in 1926 in Brightwaters, provides scholarships to seniors to encourage their musical future.
