
West Islip residents will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots on a proposed 2015-16 school budget and for school board candidates.
The proposed $117.75 million budget represents a 2.14 percent spending increase over the current year and it includes a 2.23 percent hike in the school tax levy, within the district’s state tax cap.
Steven Gellar and Michael Zotto are running unopposed for re-election to the West Islip Board of Education.

Polls are open from 7a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday at West Islip High School.
