West Islip School Budget Vote, Trustee Election Results Are In

West Islip residents approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $120.5 million budget was approved by a margin of 1,356-455. The budget is a 2.36 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 0.35 percent hike in the school tax levy.

Voters also returned Scott Brady, Annmarie LaRosa and Kevin O’Connor to the West Islip Board of Education. The incumbents all ran unopposed for new three-year terms.
