West Islip High School senior Hannah Kim was recently designated an All-National musician by the National Association for Music Education, a prestigious honor reflecting her immense skill and dedication.
Joining more than 670 of the most musically talented high school students in the United States, Kim will play in NAfME’s 2015 All-National Honor Concert Band at this year’s NAfME Biennial Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on Oct. 28. Directed by acclaimed guest conductors, the All-National band, chorus and orchestra ensembles will perform at a gala concert for an audience of thousands in the Presidential Ballroom of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
A key member of her high school’s wind ensemble, marching band, pit orchestra and jazz ensemble, Kim possesses wide-ranging musical talents, playing bassoon, saxophone and piano as well as being a vocalist. She was previously selected for the New York State School Music Association All-State Symphony Orchestra, the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education All-County Band and the Suffolk County Music Educators Association All-County Band and Orchestra.
