WEST ISLIP, NY— From West Islip School District: Led by the Students with HEARTT group, West Islip High School students helped to celebrate the 70th birthday of Ride for Life founder Chris Pendergast at HEARTT’s annual pie toss. The event serves to support the Ride and raise awareness for ALS. This year, pie toss recipients included Assistant Principal Craig Gielarowski, who encouraged students to enjoy throwing pies at him.
“Sticky fun was had by all in hopes of raising awareness and finding a cure for ALS,” said HEARTT adviser Virginia Scudder.
