1st Woman Police Chief Appointed for White Plains
She has been a police officer for 36 years.

WHITE PLAINS, NY - The first female police chief in the history of White Plains took over Monday, Feb. 22.
Anne FitzSimmons, who was an assistant chief, was sworn in at an 11 a.m. ceremony, according to a post on the White Plains Public Safety Facebook page.
Fitzsimmons has been a police officer for 36 years, her biography at wppublicsafety.com said.

Most recently, she was the commanding officer of the Administration and Support Services Division.
Prior to that, FitzSimmons service in the Detective Division for more than 17 years.

She has a master’s degree in public administration from Marist College.
