HUDSON VALLEY, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out through the holidays and help others.

Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need.

Today's opportunity is for the YWCA White Plains and Central Westchester. The organization is hosting a food drive to prepare holiday dinners for its 193 residents. This is a self-directed project in which volunteers donate items, such as turkeys, canned goods, elbow pasta and brown sugar, and drop them off at the Y in White Plains.
