4th Defendant in Shooting of Michael Nolan Sentenced
Nolan was shot in retaliation for the beating of an individual known to the suspects.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The fourth defendant in the murder of up-and-coming baseball prospect Michael Nolan was sentenced to prison Wednesday.
Garth O’Neil Cole was sentenced to five years for being the driver of the group that kill Nolan in Yonker Sept. 18, 2015, the Journal News said.
Nolan’s mother, Donna, was in court for the sentencing and said she didn’t believe Cole was sincere in expressing remorse.

Nolan was shot in the parking lot of the Burger King at 826 Central Ave. in Yonkers. He was struck in the head and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he was in a coma until he was declared dead Oct. 9, 2015.
An investigation by the Yonkers Police Department and Westchester County DA’s Office found that the shooting was in retaliation for the beating of an individual known to the suspects and related to a drag race two nights prior to the shooting.

Nolan was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 2014, while he was on the baseball team at Oklahoma City University.
Nashaun Hunter received 25 years in prison. He pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, a felony.
Tejmitra Singh was sentenced to 11 years in prison. He pleaded guilty to first-degree assault, a felony.
Darren Dawson received nine years in state prison after pleading guilty to first-degree assault, a felony.
Cole, 23, had pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.
