Adjusting to college life out of high school can be pretty tuff. You are in a completely new environment where you don't know anyone. But rest assured that it is ok because everyone is in the same boat as you are. So here are a few tips fo you:
- DO NOT stay in room the whole time. You must leave your comfort zone and go meet people. And like I said before everyone is trying to make friends because they are in the same position as you are
- Join clubs and get involved on campus it helps you not to stay in your room the whole time and it helps you expand or find your interests
- If you don't drink don't feel pressured that you have to or that is the only way to have a good time
- Respect your roommates
- Fight the freshman 15 by eating healthy and going to the gym regularly. This isn't just advice for now but will be a good habit for the rest of your life.
- Go to class (every once and a while)... you or your parents are paying for it so have some respect for the money they are spending to give you a better life.
- Apply to internships early. Do not go your college career without an internship.
- Consider Greek Life. It is not for everyone and it is different at every school, but there are great aspects of joining a frat or sorority, besides parties
- Find cheap college textbooks, do not buy through school. Complete rip off.
- Lastly enjoy the time you have because 4 years go by so quickly
