Federal prosecutors in the White Plains office say the alleged scheme, spanning multiple states and years, has led to several felony charges aimed at protecting trust in the local mail system.
2. WP-CARES to Address Unhoused & Mental Health Concerns in White Plains (yonkerstimes.com) — White Plains is launching WP-CARES, a new partnership uniting city departments, nonprofits, and county agencies to better coordinate services for unhoused residents and people facing mental health challenges. The program formalizes long-standing collaborations, expands outreach through the Police Mental Health Outreach Team, and aims to connect more people with shelter, medical care, and support while improving quality of life citywide.
3. Westchester County Office for Women Launches Personal Care Donation Drive for Domestic Violence Awareness Month (westchestercountyny.gov) — Starting October 1, you can drop off toiletries and other personal care items at the Michaelian Office Building on Martine Avenue in White Plains to support survivors during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Westchester's Office for Women will distribute donations to local shelters and programs, making it easy for White Plains residents to help neighbors in crisis.
4. EDF power solutions North America and New York Power Authority Announce Partnership for Rich Road Solar Project - EDF power solutions North America (edf-re.com) — Announced from White Plains, the New York Power Authority is taking majority ownership of a 240‑megawatt solar project in St. Lawrence County that will support hundreds of union construction jobs. Once operating, it will feed bill credits to low‑income New Yorkers through NYPA's REACH program, highlighting how a White Plains–based authority is steering major clean‑energy investments statewide.
