Westchester Welcomes Musical Hit Hairspray

There's nothing like a welcoming theater with an entertaining musical production to warm up a cold winter's eve.  The whole family will enjoy the music, dance and journey back to the 60's as Hairspray opens at The Tarrytown Music Hall on January 29.

The Random Farms Kids Theater, the resident theater company at the Tarrytown Music Hall, is presenting this Broadway-hit to Westchester audiences for performances on January 29, 30 and 31, and February 5 and 6.  There are four casts that total over 130 young, experienced performers from throughout the tri-state area.   White Plains High students Liana Costable, playing the part of Penny,  Taylor Clay, playing the part of Motormouth Mabel, and Lilly Kolb are included in the cast.

The Random Farms Kids Theater describes Hairspray as "the recent hit-Broadway musical and film that delights audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out -- and change is in the air.  Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, The Corny Collins Show.  Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love without denting her 'do'?"
