ArtsWestchester Hosts Lunar New Year Celebration on March 1

SUMMARY:
ArtsWestchester partners with the Westchester & Hudson Valley chapter of Organization of Chinese Americans to present a showcase of local and regional traditional artists across a wide variety of art forms, including music, dance, magic and visual arts.

  • The East River Ensemble – Sizhu (silk and bamboo) instrumental music
  • New York Chinese Cultural Center, Westchester Dance School
  • Community musicians Isabel Peng on guzheng (plucked zither) and Ariane Kuo on yanqin (hammer dulcimer)
  • Kwan’s Kung Fu Lion Dance Ensemble, Peekskill
  • Special guest Li Lin – bian lian (changing face magician) of the Sichuan opera tradition

Visual artworks by photographer Bibiana Huang Matheis and painter Lida Yang Zimmerman will also be on display.
