The law and government relations firm Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP recently announced that former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino has joined the firm as a senior advisor for government relations and will work on federal and state matters. Astorino, 51, is a Mount Pleasant resident who served two terms as Westchester County executive.

He currently serves as an on-air commentator with CNN, discussing national affairs and politics during their prime time shows.

“Rob Astorino has established a distinguished public policy record of setting goals and achieving them, in areas ranging from education and taxes to transportation, infrastructure and environmental protection,” said DHC Co-Managing Partner Jeffrey Citron. “Time and again, our government relations professionals have succeeded based on their extensive knowledge of policy issues and their ability to work with key officials in government.”

“I am incredibly excited to join the government relations team at Davidoff Hutcher & Citron, a firm renowned for its commitment to working on both sides of the aisle in Albany and Washington, D.C.,” Astorino said. “As an elected official, I understood the value of collaborating across party lines, between levels of government and among agencies to identify the issues and proactively address them. I look forward to continuing that type of work on behalf of DHC and its clients.”

Astorino was first elected to the Mount Pleasant Board of Education while still an undergraduate at Fordham University. He next won election as Mount Pleasant town councilman in 1991 and was re-elected in 1995 and 1999.
