Best-Tasting Water Winner Announced For 2017 In Westchester

Pedestrians sampled tap water from 10 municipal sources.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — People tasted and then voted Tuesday for the best-tasting water in Westchester County. The winner comes from the faucets of the City of Yonkers, according to 128 pedestrians who stopped to sample water from 10 of the county’s suppliers in White Plains. “We’re all winners, because Westchester’s drinking water tastes great and is good for you,” said County Executive Robert P. Astorino.

“It’s reassuring to know we have professionals working behind the scenes to maintain and assure the high quality of our drinking water,” he said.

The City of Yonkers Water Bureau will advance to a regional competition this summer, and the regional champion will ultimately compete for statewide bragging rights at the Great New York State Fair in Syracuse at the end of the summer, a spokeswoman for the county said.
