'Big Truck Day' In White Plains Postponed: UPDATE
The free event will be hands-on, fun and informative.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — Due to inclement weather, Big Truck Day has been postponed until Sunday, May 21, organizers said. The time and location remain the same.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — The City of White Plains and the Department of Public Works will host “Big Truck Day” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13. The free event will be held at the Gedney Recycling Yard, 85 Gedney Way in White Plains.
Organizers said the day will be hands-on, fun and informative, and children will be able to learn about, see, touch and sit in some of the biggest vehicles in the city’s fleet.

Vehicles on display and providing demonstrations will be from the city’s Department of Public Works, police and fire departments and Trans Care Ambulance.
The display will include antique vehicles, brush chippers, stump grinders, backhoes, aerial bucket trucks, rollers and pavers, street sweepers and automated side loaders.
Big Truck Day is a rain or shine event.
