Choir Auditions for NY premiere of The Hunchback of Notre dame

The White Plains Performing Arts Center, a professional, non profit, Regional Theatre located in the heart of White Plains’ City Center is seeking choral singers for the NY Regional Premiere of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame . The show features Music & Lyrics by Alan Menken (Newsies, Aladdin) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) and features a 32-person choir that is on stage (book in hand) for the duration of the show. This is the first time in NY that a professional regional production of the show has been staged and we want you to be apart of it!

We are looking to partner up with singers or choirs (in part or whole) to create our own choir for this production. The show will feature a professional 15-piece orchestra, 20-member cast and the 32-person choir. EMC POINTS are available for all choir positions!

IMPORTANT DATES
Tech week: Dec 16 – Dec 21
Show Dates: Dec 22-23, Dec 27-30, Jan 4-7, Jan 10-14 (16 shows total)
Venue: White Plains Performing Arts Center (35 min from NYC via train/car) wppac.com
· We do not perform on ANY holidays. Shows range from 3 to 4 per week and play mainly weekends.
· Rehearsals will be a weekday evening and a possible weekend afternoon.

SEEKING:
8 sopranos (A3-D6), 8 mezzo-sopranos (F#3-G5), 8 tenors (A2-B4), 4 baris (G#2-A4), 4 basses (F#2-G4).
10 alternates to fill select parts should conflicts be an issue to ensure we always have 32 singers per show.
Participants should be experienced choristers/singers, able to read demanding music well with knowledge and proper pronunciation of choral Latin. We would ideally like to find people who can do all the performances but will accept some conflicts if notified before the production begins rehearsals.
These are volunteer positions just as all other productions of the show have been, but we do offer EMC points for those interested. These positions are ideal for those looking for an exceptional credit of a professional regional premiere, working with Broadway professionals and getting to sing this epic score!
