Burke Rehabilitation® hosted its fourth annual Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Medical Student Fair on September 28, welcoming55 students from 17 medical schools including Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York Medical College, CUNY School of Medicine, and Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, for an interactive introduction to Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Presented with Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the Fair provided students with hands-on exposure to areas including amputee (limb-loss) rehabilitation, cancer rehabilitation, spasticity management, and adaptive sports & therapeutic recreation. The program emphasized tailoring treatment to individual patient’s goals, abilities, and quality of life priorities–helping future physiatrists recognize patients as active partners in their care. Burke continues to set the national standard in rehabilitation medicine, education, research and innovation excellence.
