Combating Sexual Assault on College Campuses
YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester Fall Symposium
White Plains, NY (October 2015): Did you know that while in college, 1 in 16 men experience sexual assault and 1 in 4 women experience sexual assault? Please join the YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester on October 26, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm to learn more about the epidemic of sexual assault taking place on our college campuses and what we as a community can do about it.
New York State signed into law the most aggressive policy in the nation to fight against sexual assault on college campuses. With this “Enough is Enough” policy, New York State made a clear and bold statement that sexual violence is a crime, and students can be assured they have a right to have it investigated and prosecuted as one.
Join the YWCA and Gold Sponsor Berkeley College and Silver Sponsor Westchester Community College and the following supporting sponsors: The Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute, Legal Momentum, New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault, NOW Westchester, Legislator Catherine Borgia, Majority Leader, 9th District Westchester County Board of Legislators, PEACE OUTside Campus, Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic and the Westchester Women’s Bar Association for a dialogue on what can be done to better protect our college students from rape and sexual assault.
