Dozens Evacuated at White Plains Courthouse over Left-Behind Backpack

The backpack was found near an elevator on the ninth floor.

An unattended backpack left on the ninth floor of the Westchester County Courthouse in White Plains Tuesday resulted in an evacuation and visit from county bomb squad technicians.

The backpack did not contain any explosive device, but Westchester County police evacuated dozens and temporarily shut off the ninth floor following the late morning discovery, according to News 12 Westchester.
