Renew Greenburgh Energy Workshop for Homeowners

The town of Greenburgh, in partnership with the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Con Edison, is hosting Renew Greenburgh on June 6, 2011. This two-hour workshop for homeowners residing in Greenburgh will explore energy-saving upgrades that can be made to homes, as well as state, federal and utility programs that are available to encourage energy conservation. Greenburgh residents should bring their Con Ed account number or past 12 months of energy use (available at www.ConEd.com) to complete an application for a free whole-house energy assessment, available through Green Jobs–Green New York, a state program encouraging energy awareness and efficiency. In addition to learning what each homeowner can do to reduce average home energy loss—which amounts to approximately $700 per year—incentives and low-interest loans that are available for home energy improvements will be covered. Each Greenburgh resident attending the event will receive 4 free CFL light bulbs, a $74 savings. To pre-register for the event and light bulbs, go to www.RenewGreenburgh.org or call (866) 495-2959. Walk-ins are welcome.
