Police ID Suspect Charged In Sexual Assault In Stairwell At City Center Mall
The 22-year-old man was charged with five felony counts of first-degree rape, and one felony count of first-degree sexual abuse.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Authorities have identified the suspect in a sexual assault at a downtown retail center.
The White Plains Police Department says that it has arrested and charged a suspect in connection with the Tuesday night sexual assault of a 20-year-old Westchester woman in a City Center stairwell.

Police have now identified the suspect as 22-year-old Xavier Fonseca Overton, of Astoria, Queens.

He has been charged with five felony counts of first-degree rape, and one felony count of first-degree sexual abuse.
Overton was scheduled to be arraigned in White Plains City Court today.
White Plains police say that an initial investigation determined that the suspect and the victim knew each other prior to the assault.
"We want to make it clear to any victim of a crime: Our priority is you," White Plains PD said. "Our focus is solely on your well-being and holding offenders accountable."
