The White Plains Take it or Leave it Shed, a collaboration of the City of White Plains Department of Public Works and White Plains Econeighbors, will have its ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening on March 26, at 11 am at the Gedney Recycling Yard. The Recycling Yard is located opposite the retail strip on Gedney Way between Gedney Terrace and Pleasant Avenue.
The TILI shed is a location for residents to free-cycle or swap unwanted items for wanted ones. Items to be dropped off can include tools, athletic equipment, bicycles, small appliances, toys, hard furniture, TVs, stereo speakers, children’s picture books, toys, gardening equipment, ornaments, and art. Items that cannot be accepted include books (with the exception of children’s illustrated books in good condition), soft upholstered furniture, clothing, suitcases, rugs cribs and skis. Items should be functional—but they don’t have to be pretty! For example, a piece of furniture that needs refinishing is fine, but a dresser missing a drawer is not.
The TILI Shed will be open between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 on Saturday's and 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through the Fall.
