FASNY: Nadine Hunt-Robinson?
Please continue to stand for what is right for your constituents, and not FASNY's. You've displayed remarkable courage.
Dear Nadine Hunt-Robinson,
You’ve displayed remarkable courage throughout the FASNY debate and I pray that you will continue to do so. You personally witnessed the accusations that FASNY has made against us, which repulsed all of us. They’ve labeled us as racist, xenophobes, and they called the White Plains Board of Education’s decision to vote against FASNY “immoral”, simply because they didn’t get the vote they had hoped for. This is another example of FASNY’s arrogance and their sense of self-importance. They never fail to remind all of us about the quality and uniqueness of their school, which in their minds seems to be the leading justification of its existence in our neighborhood. The Swiss diplomat, who had the dilemma of where to send his children, chose the German school. I ask why not the White Plains high school? Which school is multi-cultural? I guess in FASNY’s world multi-cultural only applies to European schools. This is another example of FASNY’s hypocrisy and sense of superiority. We’ve heard their promises of scholarships to their ‘elite’ school for the unfortunate students who are relegated to the White Plains public school system.

Yet FASNY’s attorney Zarin says, "We're confident that at the end of the process, we'll get the votes we need," and added "We look forward to building the school and joining the White Plains community." Joining the White Plains community?
How disingenuous and deceitful!

Wouldn’t the city prefer a neighborhood with taxpayers who send their children to our public schools, which can only enhance them! And isn’t it obvious that even with FASNY’s so-called ‘downsizing’ the school would create an unprecedented amount of traffic for a two lane country road built in the 1700’s, and create safety concerns throughout the affected neighborhoods, and drain our city’s services?
Please continue to stand for what is right for your constituents, and not FASNY’s.
Respectfully,
Jon & Ann DeMartin
