FASNY: White Plains Turns to State Supreme Court Judge for Case Dismissal
The French American School of New York continues to want to develop the former Ridgeway Country Club into its new campus.

White Plains officials have turned to a state Supreme Court judge to have a lawsuit filed by the French American School of New York dismissed, reports The Journal News.
The school was denied approval in August to build a new campus at the former Ridgeway Country Club, after years of attempts and heavy opposition by some members of the community.
City officials recently filed a request with the court to have the FASNY’s lawsuit dismissed, in part because the city believes the lawsuit became moot once the Common Council turned down the application, according to The Journal News.

“The fundamental question here, is why is the city spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on legal fees to fight a school,” FASNY attorney Michael Zarin told The Journal News. “Especially when the majority of the Common Council voted in favor of the road closure.”
