Fox News’ Pirro Says She’s Working With DA On Speeding Ticket

She was clocked traveling 119 mph by a state trooper in November.

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro had court date Monday to answer a speeding ticket she received for going 119 mph in November. The former Westchester County district attorney wasn’t in court and has been dealing with the district attorney of Tioga County over how to resolve the matter.

The Tioga County District Attorney’s office said Pirro had submitted information about the speeding ticket and also said motorists who applied for a reduction should have sent a not-guilty plea to the court by the return date, the Journal News said.

In a statement sent to Patch, Pirro said she is waiting to hear back from the DA.

“Like any other citizen, I followed the instructions on the district attorney’s website on how to respond to a traffic violation and submitted that information to the district attorney’s office immediately after receiving the ticket,” she said in the statement.

Pirro was clocked driving 119 mph Nov. 19 in the Town of Nichols, Tioga County, near the New York-Pennsylvania state line. She said she had been driving for hours to visit her ailing mother and wasn’t aware of how fast she was driving.

Pirro, after serving as an assistant DA for Westchester County, was elected in 1990 as the first woman to serve as a Westchester County Court judge.

She was elected district attorney in 1993 and was re-elected two times. She also mounted an unsuccessful bid to run against Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Her Fox News channel program is “Justice With Judge Jeanine.”
