Free Thanksgiving Meals Donated to Families in Ossining

Event sponsored by Blythedale Children's Hospital & Kohl's Eat Well, Be Well Nutrition Program

Blythedale Children’s Hospital and Kohl’s Eat Well, Be Well Program, a community-based initiative designed to bring nutrition and wellness education to schools and families, teamed up with the Ossining Union Free School District on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 for the annual Health & Wellness Block Party/Turkey Giveaway at Park Early Childhood Center.

School teachers, staff, administrators and Feeding Westchester, along with Eat Well, Be Well and other community organizations, participated in the event, distributing 150 donated turkeys along with fresh produce to more than 300 people, just in time for Thanksgiving. Free winter jackets, gloves, healthy recipes and educational materials were also given out while attendees also participated in free yoga classes and dental screenings, and enjoyed face painting and dancing to music from the live DJ.

The Eat Well, Be Well Program has helped more than 100,000 students in the greater metropolitan area since its inception in 2006.
