Freshii Offers Free Kids Meals on Weekends in White Plains

The owner of the restaurant wants to encourage healthy eating for young children.

A fast-causal White Plains restaurant is offering free meals to children under 10 to try to increase healthier diets.

Freshii White Plains recently announced the Freshii Kids Eat Free program, in which children age 10 and under can choose a free entree from the kids menu on Saturdays and Sunday when their meal is accompanied by the purchase of an adult entree.

“We introduced this program at our neighboring Freshii locations in Westport and Fairfield and were pleased with the number of kids and families who took advantage of the offer to eat a healthy meal on the weekends,,” said Jonathan Blob, owner of Freshii White Plains.

“We want kids to understand that healthy eating does not mean sacrificing flavor,” he said.

The restaurant opened in late February. The company is in more than 80 cities and 15 countries and offers a menu of healthy options, including soups, salads, wraps, burritos and frozen yogurt.

The chef-designed kids menu includes:

  • Cheesy Chicken Quesadilla: whole wheat tortilla, cheddar cheese, chicken
  • Cheesy Quesadilla: whole wheat tortilla, cheddar cheese, tomatoes
  • Kung Fu Bowl: chicken, broccoli, carrots, edamame, crispy wontons, teriyaki sauce, choice of brown rice or rice noodles
  • Chicken Noodle Soup: chicken broth, rice noodles, chicken, carrots, celery
  • Super Kids Salad: spinach and romaine, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, aged cheddar, ranch
  • Strawberry Banana Smoothie: strawberry, banana, low-fat frozen yogurt
