Funeral Services Set for Manhattanville Lacrosse Player, Accused Killer Appears in Court

Emma Fox is being held in jail in lieu of bail.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Rye woman accused of driving drunk and killing a Manhattanville student cried in court Tuesday as her lawyer asked the judge to put her on suicide watch while in jail.

Emma Fox, 24, is being held in the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, the Journal News said, and has been charged with felony vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.

Robby Schartner, 21, from Fishkill, was walking on Westchester Avenue in White Plains early Sunday morning when he was struck and killed.

Police said Fox had a blood alcohol content level of 0.21 percent.

According to his obituary on the Graham Funeral Home, Schartner was lacrosse player at Manhattanville College where he was studying marketing.

His family has asked, if lieu of flowers, to consider donating to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.

Schartner’s wake will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 11 at Graham Funeral Home, 1036 Boston Post Rd. in Rye.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 12 at the Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Rd. in Rye.

Schartner will be buried at Gate of Heaven, 10 W. Stevens Ave. in Hawthorne.
