Get Out!!

Who knew the best advice for characters in horror movies is also the best advice for those trying to edit and clear out?

GET OUT!!

GET OUT!!

It's true! What works for characters in horror movies is also the best advice for those trying to clear out or lighten up their space.

GET OUT!!

We scream, mouth (or yell) at it the screen because it's so darn obvious, they need to remove themselves from the house! But how many of us will cull our closets, drawers, etc; put unwanted things in piles, bags, and boxes...then wait...re-think...try stuff on again....

We'll walk around, or work around said piles, bags or boxes because we get busy. In the name of efficiency, we want to consolidate trips/pickups, 'finish' that room, all the closets, etc. Perhaps we're waiting for others to come and pick up stuff we hope they really want. Or, to have that grand tag sale. Many times we haven't really come to grips with parting with these items.

GET OUT!!

No matter if it's on a screen, or in real life, it's always so much easier to see other's bad choices. Take it from this Westchester County Home Stager, if you're on a roll, purging away, stop before you run out of time or steam: FOCUS, and get these things out of the house. Otherwise, that someday never comes.

  • Getting them to the garage is rarely helpful; into the car is ok
  • Getting them to their next destination is ideal
  • Bring it to a multi-item site like WP's Green Drop,
  • Hire a professional organizer who'll sort with you, then drop stuff off, or arrange for pickups.
  • Hire a junk-removing company who'll pick it all up, sort outs what's donatable/otherwise repurposable, and discard the rest.

Ready to GET OUT?
