Girls Inc of Westchester County To Hold Strong, Smart & Bold Gala

Celebrating 10th Anniversary Honoring One Of Their Own, Along With Three Notable Westchester Leaders At Their 2018 Strong,Smart & Bold Gala

Girls Inc. of Westchester County will celebrate their 10th anniversary and will honor four incredible leaders at their Strong, Smart, and Bold Gala. The organization will recognize the achievements of these strong, smart, and bold Westchester women while highlighting its members past and present on Thursday, April 12, 2018, 6:00pm at Doral Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center, 975 Anderson Hill Road, Rye Brook, NY 10573. This year’s honorees are Kimberly Davis (National Hockey League), Michelle Ifill (Verizon), and Joanne E. Wright (IBM), with a special tribute to Girls Inc. of Westchester County founder, Sally Baker, each of whom exemplifies the Girls Inc. mission.

“This is more than a fundraiser. It is a celebration of the girls in our programs and an acknowledgement of their growth into powerful young women who will be the leaders of their generation,” said Catherine Lepone, Executive Director.

Kimberly Davis is an Executive Vice President of Social Impact, Growth Initiatives, and Legislative Affairs for the National Hockey League. She is responsible for leading the league’s efforts to increase fandom through increased youth participation, social impact, and outreach to new audiences. A current resident of New Rochelle, New York, Kim inspires and motivates young girls and women to reach their limitless potential.

Michelle Ifill is the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Verizon Corporate Services Group, Inc., where she is responsible for primary legal oversight and support of Information Technology and Cyber Security, as well as the Chief Administrative Office. Michelle resides in New Rochelle, New York with her family and actively provides mentoring for students of color and speaks on the importance of diversity and leadership for women.

Joanne E. Wright is the Vice President, Supply Chain for IBM, where she is responsible for strategy, execution, and transformation of IBM’s Global end to end supply chain, delivering to clients across more than 170 countries. Joanne resides in Brookfield, Connecticut with her family and enjoys helping her community become stronger.

Sally Baker, founder of Girls Inc. of Westchester County, started her journey with Girls Inc. in 1997 with a strong belief in its mission and witnessing the profound impact the programs had for girls. After 7 years with Girls Inc. of NYC, Sally moved to Westchester County and wanted to make a meaningful contribution while enriching the lives of girls in her new community. Sally served Girls Inc. of Westchester County as their former Executive Director, and remains involved today as a volunteer and donor. She currently resides in Hastings-on-Hudson and enjoys making a difference in the community.

Gala attendees will enjoy a spectacular cocktail reception, dinner, and a special presentation that will showcase personal stories of the young program participants. The evening will be emceed by Kim Berns, host of the radio show Anything Goes with Kim Berns on 1490 WGCH. Adding to the program are silent and live auctions with award winning auctioneer Erin Ward of Star Benefit Auctions.

“I am so excited to celebrate our 10 year anniversary with our many corporate and community supporters on April 12th,” said Anitra Hadley, Board Chair. “We are looking forward to an evening of not only celebrating what Girls Inc. Westchester has accomplished over the last decade, but all we look forward to achieving in the years to come. I am honored to be a part of this amazing organization that is doing so much to empower underserved girls in Westchester County.”
