Hospice and Palliative Care of Westchester Hosts Annual "Tree of Life" Reception

Community members gather to honor and remember loved ones during the holiday season

White Plains, NY – (December 7, 2015) – Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester (HPCW) recently hosted its annual “Tree of Life” Reception at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, N.Y.

Over the last few months, community members were invited to make a donation to HPCW through the purchase of a gold star in memory or in honor of a loved one. During the event, guests and sponsors shared in the celebration of life by placing the personalized gold stars on the “Tree of Life.” The evening featured holiday entertainment provided by Manhattanville College’s elite pop vocal group, The Quintessentials.

“Holidays are very difficult for families that have recently lost loved ones or have family members who are terminally ill,” said Mary K. Spengler, MS, executive director of HPCW. “This event is a way to bring the community together to foster a sense of family and love at a very special time of year.”
