Israeli First-Response Organization to Talk Emergency Preparedness in White Plains

Magen David Adom is sanctioned by the State of Israel to provide medical response.

An emergency preparedness session will be held Feb. 8 in White Plains featuring an Israeli first-responder organization.

Westchester County Legislator Ben Boykin, chairman of the Committee on Public Safety and Social Services, has arranged for Yoni Yagadovsky, director of international relations for Magen David Adom, to lead the session, which is open to the public.

Magen David Adom is state-sanctioned in Israel to serve as emergency medical first responders for the country’s 8 million people.

MDA is the only organization mandated by the Israeli government to serve in that role.

Yagadovsky, who began with the organization as a youth volunteer in 1975 has been involved in the response to almost every mass casualty incident that has taken place over the last 25 years in the Jerusalem region.

He runs training drills all around the world.

The session will be held at noon Monday, Feb. 8 at the Westchester County Board of Legislators, 148 Martine Ave., 8th floor.
