It’s Not Too Late To Register For 9/11: Serve + Remember
There are a host of volunteer projects scheduled this weekend through Monday, September 11th as part of a community wide day of remembrance.
As part of the community wide 9/11: Serve + Remember day of service volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed for a range of tasks from packing medical supplies in Yonkers, to sorting clothes that will go to underprivileged youth in Port Chester, to distributing food to those in need in Mount Vernon. Many projects will take place throughout the day at the Westchester County Center on 9/11 this year. Donation drives for local nonprofits are also being accepted at the Westchester County Center on Monday, September 11th and include a blood drive, a Hurricane Harvey Relief Supply drive, children’s book drive, care package drive for troops overseas, and a diaper drive for families in need for the Westchester County Diaper Bank.
Whether you have one hour to write notes to veterans or can roll up your sleeves to support the Westchester Parks Foundation, your service as part of 9/11: Serve + Remember can make a difference.
