Latimer Sworn In For 2nd — And Final — Term As County Executive
"We are doing everything we can to improve the lives of Westchester County's residents," Latimer said during the ceremony.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Deputy County Executive Ken Jenkins were sworn in for new four-year terms of office during a virtual ceremony Monday.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains but was not open to the public because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Latimer was sworn in for his second and final term as county executive and said his first four years were about fixing what was broken.

"We inherited a number of fiscal problems and first and foremost, we needed to get Westchester County back on solid financial ground," he said. "But more than that, we created a template that results matter to us."
Latimer credited his administration with getting the county through the unprecedented pandemic successfully so far, building a new family court in New Rochelle, saving the historic Elijah J. Mill House and reopening the Sprain Ridge Pool.

"We believe in results," he said. "We are doing everything we can to improve the lives of Westchester County's residents, and that is exactly what we plan to do with the second term that is before us."
Latimer said he will reveal his top priorities for this second term in the coming days and weeks.
He was sworn in by New York State Supreme Court Justice Thomas Quiñones, 9th Judicial District. Jenkins's oath was administered by Administrative Judge Anne Minihan, 9th Judicial District.
In 2019, Latimer proposed a change in term limits for the Westchester county executive — from three terms to two. It was passed by the County Legislature in 2020.
He said at the time the change would apply to himself.
