Lowey Makes Presidential Endorsement
Rep. Nita Lowey recently announced she would not be running for re-election.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Retiring Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, has weighed in regarding the 2020 presidential race. According to a press release, Lowey endorsed Mike Bloomberg for president, citing his mayoral leadership, support for progressive causes and the belief he is the best chance to beat President Donald Trump in November.
"Mike and I have worked together for years in New York, and whether it's homeland security or gun safety, there's no one you can depend on more to get important initiatives over the finish line," Lowey said, in a prepared statement.
"After four years of the damage Donald Trump has inflicted on our nation, we need someone who knows how to get things done from day one in the Oval Office," she said. "We need a president who will restore our image on the world stage, repair our relationships with our allies and reassure the world that the United States in a reliable partner."
