Former Archbishop Stepinac player and Harvey graduate Steve Masiello, a White Plains native, is now coaching the men's basketball squad at Manhattan College, which is participating in the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
The Jaspers first-round game is at Albany tonight at 7 p.m.

Softball
At Myrtle Beach, in the opening of the softball season, Junior Kate Smayda (White Plains ’09) had a terrific pair of games on the 5th, where in the first contest with SUNIY, a 6-2 win, she led off the game with a home run, the first ever in her college career.
Against Immaculata, in the p.m. game, a 9-5 win, she led off with a hard single to right and later scored. Later, in a five-run 4th frame, she hit the wall with a laser shot, to knock in 2 teammates. On the day, she batted 6-7, scored 6 runs, and had 3 r.b.i's all told.
In two games on the 4th, Muhlenberg topped Simmons, 7-1, with Jamie Klotz (White Plains '11), in her debut softball game for Muhlenberg, having no hits and playing right field, in a 5-0 loss on the 5th. Against Misericordia in the afternoon game, she batted 0 for 1. On the 7th, she went hitless, walked and fanned one time each.
Stepinac Lacrosse
Before you know it, the spring sports teams will be playing actual games.
Archbishop Stepinac's first boys lacrosse game will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at Tappan Zee according to its website.
