The White Plains ice-hockey squad got off to a great start in the Section 1 Division 1 Tournament Feb. 19 with a 8-5 triumph against host Somers/North Salem at the Brewster Ice Arena.
Leading the Tigers to the win was Kevin McGee, who notched a career-high four goals and an assist.

Stepinac hoops
Josh James led Archbishop Stepinac with 12 points and 10 rebounds with teammate Tyler Iacuone scoring 12 points as well as well, in the Crusaders' 63-47 loss to Mount St. Michael in the CHSAA AA quarterfinals Feb. 19 at St. Raymond's High School.

Swimming:
Emily Griffin (White Plains '09) is swimming her third year for Oswego. She swims in the 200 Freestyle Relays, plus in both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke events.
In earlier competition with Buffalo, on January 21st, her 200 Freestyle Relay foursome finished 5th, with a clocking of 2:16.21, while she was 5th in the 200 Breaststroke, timed at 2:56.3. The Lakers won, 152-121.
With Cortland on the 24th in a 150-64 setback, she was 6th in the 100 Breaststroke, clocked at 1:20.26, while in her most recent meet at Geneseo, the 200 FSRelay quartet was 6th with a time of 2:14.98, while she was 5th in the 100 Breast, with a clocking of 1:22.13, and was 6th in the 200 Breast, timed at 3:01.96. Oswego lost this one, 171-112.
At the SUNYAC meet, 2-9-11, she competed in the women's 200 breaststroke, and finished in 32nd place, with a clocking of 2:52.13.
