Prince's 'Purple Rain' to Be Screened in White Plains for One Night Only
The semi-autobiographical film was released in 1984.
City Center 15: Cinema De Lux will present a special, one-night-only screening Thursday, April 28 of the 1984 classic “Purple Rain” in honor of Prince, who died April 21 at the age of 57.
The movie is a semi-autobiographical tale of The Kid, a Minneapolis musician working his way through the club scene while dealing with romance and a difficult family life, according to Showcase Cinemas.
Featured songs include “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy” and “Purple Rain.”

City Center 15: Cinema de Lux is located at 10 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains.

Also AMC has made a deal with Warner Bros. to bring the cult classic back to theaters, in commemoration of Prince's life, his music and his legend. In the Hudson Valley, AMC is showing 'Purple Rain' at the Palisades Center through Thursday.
