Rain Followed By Unseasonable Temps: White Plains' Work Week Weather

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Much needed rain is expected for the Hudson Valley early this week, followed by moderate temperatures.

The chance of rain starts in the early hours of Tuesday and will continue through the day.

Forecasts call for up to a half inch, and we certainly will take it.

The rain will taper off Tuesday night and then we can expect sunny skies until the weekend.

“After the storm quickly exits the coast, the door will be opened for unseasonably mild conditions to build across the region,” said AccuWeather Metrorologist Renee Duff.

Here is the forecast for the work week via the National Weather Service:

  • Today: Sunny, with a high near 61. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.
  • Tonight: A 50 percent chance of rain, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Light and variable wind.
  • Tuesday: Rain. High near 52. Northeast wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 11pm. Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. North wind around 6 mph becoming west after midnight.
  • Wednesday: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 57. West wind 5 to 7 mph.
  • Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.
  • Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 59.
  • Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40.
  • Friday: Sunny, with a high near 60.
  • Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 42.
