ArtsWestchester offers a new semester of classes aimed at providing artistic opportunities for youth (ages 6-13) and adults (ages 55 and above) in downtown White Plains. These winter offerings include collaborations with various cultural organizations and teaching artists. Students are encouraged to use their imagination while they:
- learn technical clay skills with Clay Art Center
- fuse modern painting and digital technology to create stop-motion and media animation with Pelham Art Center
- improve writing skills by turning their stories into plays with The Hudson Valley Writer’s Center
- learn basic drawing techniques using the Japanese animation style of anime with artist Alan Reinold
- craft monologues based on their individual stories and specific emories with professional actress Denise Bessette.
A collaboration between Clay Art Center and Alan Reingold is designed for students on winter vacation to create clay sculptures in the morning and learn about drawing in the afternoons. All classes will take place at ArtsWestchester on 31 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains. To learn more or register online, visit: www.arts.org/classes.
