Softball
In a 6-0 loss at Clermont, FL on the 19th, Emily Frawley (White Plains '10) of New Paltz, pinched hit in the final inning and struck out. With Kalamazoo on the 20th, she pinched hit in the 3 run 5th frame, singled, and then scored the initial run of her college career, as the Hawks won their first game of the season.

In the 9-7 win over Wisconsin-Supeior on the 1st, Frawley was a pinch runner, and was hung up at 3rd base when the next batter popped out. Playing 3 games on the Florida finale on the 22nd, they dropped the opener to Trinity, 8-0, lost a squeaker to Babson, 1-0, and then topped Wesleyan, 5-4, with Frawley having 1 at bat in the finale.
The Swarthmore College Maroons, playing a twin bill at Phadelphia Bible in 2 games on the 20th, swamped the Crimson Eagles, 17-3 and 8-0, with slugging center fielder and lead off batter Kate Smayda (White Plains '09), going 2-4 in the opener, including a double and a triple, and scoring 3 runs, while in the night cap, although hitless, she scored 1 run and had an r.b.i., as she reached first base twice, the first time on an error and the second on a fielder's choice.
In a double loss at Widener on the 22nd, she caught 1 fly in game one, a 3-0 blanking, while in the night cap, a wild swinging affair, she batted 4-5, including 2 doubles and 2 singles, with the home team scoring a run in the bottom of the 9th, to edge the visitors, 9-8.
Victoria Hernandez (White Plains '11), in her 2nd plate appearance for Pace in a 14-8 loss to Caldwell, struck out in her only time at bat.

Football players Caleb Gilligan-Evans and Vincent Narog will sign their letter of intents today at 10 a.m. in our gym as they attend Holy Cross College and Sacred Heart University respectively.

Stepinac's varsity lacrosse team faces Harrison on Thursday at 4 p.m. at home.
