Stepinac to Expand Private Bus Service at Metro North Stations

White Plains, NY (November 13, 2017) Commuting to Stepinac High School is going to be more convenient for students starting next September when it expands its private bus service network.

Three new convenient pick-up points will be located at the Metro North Railroad Hudson Line’s Tarrytown station as well as the New Haven Line’s Greenwich and Stamford stations. Times to pick up students at the new locations will be announced by February.

The addition of Metro North Railroad stations to Stepinac’s network of private bus routes will make commuting to White Plains-based Stepinac more accessible throughout all of upper, central and lower Westchester as well as the Bronx, Manhattan and eastern Connecticut.

Keith Sunderland (Class of ’94), Director of Admissions, said that the expansion is in response to the trend of Stepinac attracting increased numbers of students “well outside the school’s primary service area comprising central and lower Westchester and the Bronx,” adding: “About three years ago, we started to provide private bus service from northern Westchester which proved to be beneficial for students living in that area. We expect this expansion will appeal to students and their families in outlying areas as well.”

He added: “It is our goal to continuously evaluate the transportation needs of our current and prospective students in an effort to offer convenient means of daily commuting to and from Stepinac.”

Currently, Stepinac’s private bus routes comprise 2 locations in northern Westchester; 3 in Riverdale; 6 in Yonkers and 10 in the Throggs Neck area of the Bronx.
