This past weekend (Jan. 14-15th, 2012), the Stepinac Wrestling Team participated at the Stony Brook LI Dual Tournament and the JV City Divisional in Staten Island. Once again, the Crusaders showed promise and success by beating Salesian and Stony Brook head to head, and placed 5th at the Divisional.
At Stony Brook, AJ Revellese, Chris Bernard and Brandon Gray (3 pins) all went 4-0 on the day, while Anthony Fontanello went 3-1. At the JV City Divisional, Angelos Paradisis took 1st place in the 152 lbs weight class. Anthony Fontanello and Steven Marji both placed 2nd, and Liam Barry placed 3rd; all bringing home metals.

Crusaders win in boys hoops
varsity boys basketball team was also successful, winning at Monsignor Farrell 56-53 Jan. 15.
Stepinac's leading scorer Tyler Iacuone returned to the lineup after missing the last four games with the flu, led the Crusaders with 18 points.
Teammate Josh James registered 12 points.

Locals ranked in boys hoops
Stepinac is ranked No. 4 overall and No. 1 of the CHSSA/private school teams in the LoHud Varsity Insider rankings.
The White Plains boys basketball squad is the No. 10 ranked team overall and No. 3 team in Class AA.
