WHITE PLAINS, NY (November 20, 2017) Braving temperatures in the 30s and the chilly waters of Long Island Sound, 41 Stepinac High School students continued a school tradition of supporting the Special Olympics NY Hudson Valley Region by participating in the 9th Annual Polar Plunge (Freezin’ for a Reason) held recently in Glen Island, New Rochelle. The students raised more than $10,000 for the non-profit, founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in 1968, that provides year-round sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
