Tough Weather Conditions for Train Accident Investigation

Light snow is possible from early Wednesday morning into Thursday.

Cold temperatures and the possibility of light snow will affect investigators at the scene of the deadly Metro North at-grade crossing crash.

The 8-car commuter train was on the Harlem Line headed to Chappaqua and points north when it slammed into an SUV on the tracks in between the gates at Commerce Street in Mount Pleasant. The first car of the train exploded in fire; a portion of the electrified third rail drove up through the floor.
