United Way Announces 2018 Golf Outing Honoree

United Way of Westchester and Putnam is pleased to announce John Flannery will be this year's honoree

United Way of Westchester and Putnam is pleased to announce John Flannery will be this year’s honoree for the organization’s annual Day of Golf & Tennis event. Mr. Flannery is currently a member of Wilson Elser’s Executive Committee and the Managing Partner of the White Plains, NY office. His practice focuses on civil litigation, including claims involving toxic torts, commercial disputes, civil rights, municipal and product liability and employment litigation.

Each year, United Way honors exceptional individuals for their outstanding commitment to the community. This year’s Day of Golf & Tennis event will be held Tuesday, October 9th at the Mount Kisco Country Club in Mount Kisco, NY (10 Taylor Road). Guests will enjoy a fantastic day of golf and tennis, followed by a formal reception in the evening to honor Mr. Flannery. Proceeds raised from the event will support United Way’s mission to advance the common good and help individuals and families in Westchester and Putnam Counties thrive and become more self-sufficient and stable so they can think about their futures again.

“We are so honored to name John Flannery as this year’s honoree due to his longstanding commitment to the betterment of our communities and his passion for helping people,” said Alana Sweeny, President and CEO of the United Way of Westchester and Putnam. “Our annual golf and tennis outing is a fantastic event that brings friends, families, colleagues and neighbors together to raise funds that help address the roots of poverty through early literacy, financial stability and access to community resources through our 2-1-1 helpline.”

“United Way of Westchester and Putnam is a wonderful organization committed to helping thousands in our Counties each year through advanced, innovative programs and resources in education, job training and crisis support,” said Mr. Flannery. “I have a desire to help individuals and families in any way I can, and I am pleased to support local organizations such as the Westchester Medical Center Foundation and Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. It is an honor to be recognized and I look forward to celebrating with everyone on October 9th.”

Mr. Flannery currently resides in Chappaqua with his wife, Susan, and two children.
