Westchester Beaches and Pools Have Extended Hours Saturday and Sunday
Heat and humidity were the reasons for giving residents more time to swim.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Westchester County beach and pool hours have been extended due to the forecast heat and humidity for this weekend.
County Executive Robert P. Astorino said the hours at county-operated swimming areas by one hour Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24.
“While we can’t turn down the temperature,” he said, “we are able to extend our swimming hours by an hour this weekend to help residents stay just a little cooler.”

The following swimming areas will be open from 11 a.m. to the extended time 7:30 p.m., with no admittance after 7 p.m., both Saturday and Sunday:
- Saxon Woods Pool, White Plains
- The Brook at Tibbetts Brook Park, Yonkers
- Willson’s Waves at Willson’s Woods Park, Mount Vernon
- Croton Point Beach, Croton-on-Hudson
- Glen Island Beach, New Rochelle
Hours at Playland Beach and Pool this weekend will be 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
