Westchester Choral Society’s 75th Anniversary Concert An Exhilarating Event
White Plains Mayor Tom Roach, Westchester County Board of Legislators, Congresswoman Nita Lowey Issue Proclamations

White Plains Mayor Tom Roach kicked off the Westchester Choral Society’s 75th Anniversary Concert with a proclamation declaring May 13 as “Westchester Choral Society Day” in White Plains. The chorus, led expertly by Music Director Frank Nemhauser, kept audience members riveted to their seats with moving renditions of Hungarian and Slovak folk songs and the powerful, breathtaking Carmina Burana. The concert, held at White Plains Presbyterian Church, was an exhilarating, climactic event.
Chorus members were jubilant, expressing gratitude for being part of the longest continuously performing chorus in the county. Many of them said how much they enjoy singing under the direction of Frank Nemhauser, "where every rehearsal turns into a music lesson." The chorus has significantly grown musically over the past few years. “Singing with this convivial group is an exultant experience,” one member quipped. Another chorister stated that the concert was "surely a magnum opus for us all." At the reception, the audience and choir members voiced their enthusiasm, and the joyous, elated mood was very evident.
Three soloists, each of whom has received national recognition, underscored the chorus' successful performance with their respective contributions.
