Westchester Food Bank Receives $75K from Walmart

Walmart presented the Food Bank for Westchester with a generous donation of $75K for its Emergency Food Distribution and BackPack programs.

From Thompson & Bender: Walmart recently presented the Food Bank for Westchester with a generous donation of $75,000 to support its Emergency Food Distribution and BackPack programs. White Plains Walmart Store Manager John Ruggieri presented the check to Ayesha Khan, Senior Director of Fund Development for Food Bank for Westchester, on November 15.

“At Walmart, we’re committed to partnering with local organizations that help build strong communities,” Ruggieri said. “The Food Bank for Westchester’s incredible work results in healthy meals for hungry families throughout the local area and we are thrilled to support their mission.”

Food Bank for Westchester provides food to more than 200,000 county residents through soup kitchens, food pantries, emergency shelters, along with day care and senior care facilities. For more information, visit here.

For over 27 years, the Food Bank for Westchester (FB4W) has led the fight against hunger in Westchester County, serving 300 frontline programs that provide food directly to the 200,000 county residents who are hungry or food insecure.
